BMW Group India has announced the launch of the new facelifted 3 Series sedan in India with a starting price of Rs 35.90 lakh. The new model will be available at all authorised dealerships in four variants to choose from viz., Prestige, Sport Line, Luxury Line, and M Sport. The facelifted BMW 3 Series receives the 1995cc 4-cylinder, TwinPower Turbo diesel engine which has been tweaked mildly to produce 190PS of power and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a new 8-speed automatic transmission. Except for the Prestige, all other variants will have manual shift pedals mounted behind the steering wheel. The new 3 Series has been claimed to accelerate from 0-100 in 7.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 230Kmph.
The revised design of the new BMW 3 Series has the distinctively shaped lengthy bonnet which bears the new LED headlights and LED fog lamps giving the sedan a sporting appearance. The rear tail lamps also receive the LED treatment with an ‘L’ shaped configuration. The front and rear bumpers of the new 3 Series are re-styled by incorporating broader side air intakes which gives the sedan a wider look.
With the launch of the new version, BMW has also introduced the 3 Series M Sport variant which is armed with the M aerodynamic package, an M leather steering wheel, front sports seats and Driving Experience Control switch with additional Sport+ mode.
The new BMW 3 Series will be available in 8 colours which include: Alpine White as non-metallic colour and Black Sapphire, Platinum Silver, Jatoba, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Melbourne Red, Mediterranean Blue and Estoril Blue as metallic colours. BMW will be introducing the petrol variant of the new 3 Series later in 2016.
