The 996 GT2 was Porsche's first model fitted as standard with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). Since the 3.6-liter engine could produce a maximum power of 462 hp and a top speed of 315 km/h, the braking system was one of the most important parts of the car.
