The Ignis is powered by a 1.25-litre Dualjet petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system; gets AWD as option. 



Details of the new international-spec Suzuki Ignis have surfaced on the internet as the the compact crossover’s launches in international markets. The Ignis will be available with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system as standard for all variants.

In terms of dimensions, the Ignis is 3,700mm long, 1,660mm wide and has a height of 1,595 mm. The wheelbase is at 2,435 mm while boot volume is set at 258 litres which can be expanded to 415 litres by folding the rear seats.

Inside, the Ignis gets storage spaces across the cabin and comes equipped with a climate control system and an audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The rear seats can also be adjusted by 165mm to increase legroom.

The car is to get a 1.25-litre Dualjet petrol engine with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid technology.  The engine will develop 89.75bhp and will be paired with a 3bhp electric motor as part of the hybrid system. The car will come with two-wheel drive as standard but will get the option of Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system.

Maruti will showcase a concept version of the Ignis at Auto Expo 2016 in February with our sources saying that a production version is to follow sometime soon.
